Lebanon, a magnificent Middle Eastern country situated on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, is filled with rich history, culture, mountainous terrains and breathtaking landscapes. However, the country's forests and water supplies suffered significant damage during the 1975–1976 war, and massive reconstruction efforts are now actively being undertaken throughout the country.
The Greater Beirut Water Supply Project - worth close to U$370 million - is one of the post-war rehabilitation and reconstruction projects in Lebanon. Receiving financial assistance from the World Bank, the project aims to increase the supply of potable water by 250,000 cubic meters a day and expects to directly benefit approximately 1.2 million residents living within the project area, including 350,000 low-income residents of the Southern Beirut suburbs.
A fleet of All-Terrain Powerplus Excavators (PP220E-XI, PP300E-XI, PP350E-XI & PP380E-XI) were deployed and tested under the toughest conditions.
POWERPLUS is honored to be able to contribute by deploying our latest fleet of excavators to work at the site, ensuring timely completion of the project. The choice for POWERPLUS' excavators for the Greater Beirut Water Supply Project is definitely a strong endorsement of the brand.
